Terminator Ladies Make FHM Top #100 Sexiest Girls List 2009

TSCC’s Summer Glau vaulted up FHM’s annual 100 Sexiest Girls List this year. If memory serves me right she squeaked on at like #99 last year and this year came in at #26!

Here’s what they say about her:

Some things just don’t last long enough – a first kiss, or maybe a really juicy burger. For sc-fi fans that one thing was Firefly. Created by Joss Whedon of Buffy fame, it was a slice of sci-fi perfection not least because it involved Miss Glau as a hard-as-nails child prodigy who loved a ruck.

Despite its cancellation, the 27-year-old Texan’s skill with a roundhouse set her up to take the role of a sexy terminator in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. And despite fans’ efforts, Fox have also now canned this leaving our lecherous minds with a disconcerting Summer Glau-sized void.

Moon Bloodgood also found her way onto the list and came in at #97!

Terminator Salvation was garbage. As much as we wanted to love it, we just couldn’t. However, its one redeeming factor was the opportunity it afforded many of us to see Moon on the big screen for the first time.

With a career previously focused on TV acting, (she even once played a stripper on CSI) it was only a matter of time before Moon was cast in a big movie role. At a career-turning point of 33 years old, we’re hoping Terminator hasn’t confined the Korean/Irish/Dutch actress into only further short stints on the likes of Burn Notice.

Nothing Personal, All Time Low New Album

All time Low will release third full-length album next month on 7 July 2009.

Vocalist Alex Gaskarth explained to Alternative Press, "our music explains all the troubles we've been through..it has many things.. This time, we tried to explore something a little bit deeper. We're exploring some new moods, which is pretty cool."
Although the band spent time writing a collaboration with Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, the song will not feature on Nothing Personal, with vocalist Gaskarth stating, "It just didn't fit the vibe of the record," but, "It will definitely come out at some time."

New hope for Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles

I was read sci-fi news yesterday and i really glad to hear news that there's a new hope for my favorite show. so here's the news from scifiscoop:

Whilst promoting Terminator: The Machinima series James Middleton, the executive producer of Fox’s now cancelled Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has raised hopes that the story may continue.

Without confirming any specific plans about how the story might continue, Middleton recently spoke to Sci Fi Wire with words that clearly echo the possibility that the events of the series finale may not end there.

“I feel like I don’t want to raise anybody’s expectations about what’s going to happen with those characters,” Middleton said. “I can tell you that I love those characters. I use a business term, and it sort of belies my emotional investment in these characters, but they are a great franchise asset. My passion for them is not diminished at all, and I’ll just leave it at that.”

Whilst many people regard the TSCC finale as a reasonable story closer, I’m one of the many more who don’t. From my perspective the first two season’s set the scene, whilst the climactic moment of the finale teased a whole new range of questions and, more importantly, unveiled a new and creative direction for both the Terminator story and the evolution of its characters.

“It was a great way for us to end the season, but we would have liked to have continued. There’s no doubt about it,” Middleton said.

“If we had gotten a third season, I should say, we definitely would have explored what it all meant, but I think there’s a great moment where we see Allison [Summer Glau], and John’s look to her is very meaningful. I think that also would have been a great thing in terms of dramatic potential. Like I said, the show has ended, and it would all be speculation, and I really don’t want to raise anybody’s expectations.”

Although Middleton is careful to place caution in his words to prevent letting fans down with unrealistic expectations, his message is clear - there were and still are intentions to take the story beyond the season finale. Perhaps the series might be picked up by a new network (SyFy?) or perhaps the story will be developed in the form of a novel or comic - all of which is speculation for now.

Yet, despite the truth that sometimes even the best intentions lead nowhere, this is the first time a glimmer of hope has surfaced since the series was canceled. I for one will look forward to any medium in which we might be granted our desire to see where the story goes.
